IMPORTANT: Contraindications

Individuals who have the following will NOT be suitable and/or eligible for permanent make-up services:

  • Actively Positive with Corona Virus OR recently received Corona Virus Vaccine (must wait one month after receiving SECOND dose)
  • Under the age of 18
  • Currently pregnant or nursing
  • Active smoker of ANY tobacco products (lip blush only)
  • Diabetic (uncontrolled)
  • Actively on anticoagulants, blood thinners, or long term use of Asprin, Tylenol, and/or ibuprofen
  • Actively taking antibiotics (must wait 10 days minium after final dose)
  • Actively receiving or within 6/12 months post chemo/radiation
  • Autoimmune Disease
  • Glaucoma
  • Blood disorders
  • Heart conditions
  • Prone to keloids (microblading only)
  • Allergies to Lidocaine or Epinephrine
  • Botox/facials/peels/microdermabrasions/lip filler/lasers within 2 weeks of procedure
  • Use of Retin-A/Retinol/Tretinoin products within 1 month of procedure
  • Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Use of Accutane within the last year
  • Use of Latisse or any other eyelash/eyebrow growth serums within 3 months
  • Allergies to metal and/or color
  • Poor reactions to prior tattoos
  • Open wounds, rashes, acne, and/or any skin conditions on the procedure area
  • Epilepsy/prone to fainting
  • Allergies to pigments or topical anesthetics
  • Lupus
  • Clients who have undergone organ transplant
  • Avid tanner (sunlight or tanning bed)
Ultimately your safety is my priority. If you have any medical issues that you feel might be a contraindication, then we suggest you receive clearance from your health care provider prior to receiving any procedures at Alluring Brows by Marissa. A Doctor's note will need to be provided.

Pre-care Instructions

  • Do not drink alcohol, tea, coffee, soda, or energy drinks 24 hours before your appointment!
  • Do not receive filler/botox less than 2 weeks prior to appointment
  • Do not tan prior to your service, or have a sunburnt face
  • Do not work out the day of the procedure
  • Do not tweeze, wax, thread, tint, etc. before the procedure
  • Do not take fish oil, vitamin E, asprin, Ibuprofen or pain relievers 24 hours before procedure (these are blood-thinners)
  • Discontinue use of chemical peels, Rein A, Retinols, Vitamin A or C creams and other topical medications and/or exfoliants AT LEAST ONE month prior to the appointment.
  • LIP BLUSH CLIENTS WHO EXPERIENCE COLD SORE OUTBREAKS MUST CONTACT THIER PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO PROCEDURE FOR PRESCRIPTION PREVENTATIVE MEDICATION.
  • *Please note you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle due to hormones.

Aftercare Instructions

(You will be provided a deluxe after-care kit with instructions at your initial appointment.)

  • NEVER scratch, pick, or pull any of the flakes. Please allow the flakes to exfoliate naturally.
  • No working out or sweating until area is completely done flaking (7-10 days on average).
  • Avoid exposing the treated area to water, direct shower streams, saunas, steam, pools, salt water, tubs, etc.
  • Do not expose healing skin to the sun, tanning beds, pets, dust/dirt, smoke, or chemicals of any kind (i.e. make-up, toners, moisturizers, serums, etc.)
  • No botox, peels, microdermabrasions, or chemical treatments for a minimum of 2 weeks
  • Gently wash area twice daily with warm water and antibacterial soap and begin applying rice size amount of the provided ointment no sooner than day 3 as needed.
  • Lip Blush Clients-no kissing, drink through a straw, and keep moisturized until completely healed (3-7 days on average).
